Stockholm, Sweden: A City for Everyone

Alas! Reaching Scandinavia has been on my bucket list for ages. For many reasons, Sweden and Denmark have been at the top of my list. I’m satisfied knowing that how I imagined Sweden was accurately depicted. Here are some of the top reasons why Stockholm, Sweden, should be your Next Stop:

  1. Cashless System. Your paper and coin money in Sweden is appreciated but not widely accepted. Anywhere you go, debit and credit cards are the only means of payment. Plastic is the way to trade money with goods and services, from food trucks to alley restaurants and pubs.
  2. 10/10 in walkability. Stockholm is a city composed of many islets. If you have all day, you can count on exceeding your 15,000 steps per day goal. The best part is the scenery. Since it’s surrounded by water, there’s always a photo op every time you take a break.
  3. The ABBA Museum. It’s a bus ride away from any significant hotspot in town. This interactive museum is iconic and will give you the time of your life. Paying homage to the famous “Dancing Queen” can be easily fulfilled by joining the original group a la hologram for a 30-second performance of your life singing your favorite ABBA song! Best of all, you’ll have a video to prove and a souvenir to share sent to you via email that you can easily publish on social media. So if you want a proper “Mamma Mia” kind of fun, hop on the fun bus to the ABBA museum.
  4. Water Transportation. The waterways are saturated by many vessels, both private and public. If you’re into island hopping Stockholm style, you’ll surely appreciate floating around the city. Access to water taxis is a breeze anytime you see a marina-big or small. So take the time to soak in the Stockholm experience and float away!
  5. Gastropubs and Barstraunts abound. Your trip to Stockholm will only be complete with experiencing the convenience of unique eateries and hangouts.

So why visit Stockholm? Contrasts abound in Stockholm. Here are where innovations that become a global phenomenon are created and where trends in music, design, fashion, and technology are born. Stockholm is both urban and close to nature in this city where the lake and the sea meet. Water is a constant presence. There are many parks and green spaces, and the recognizable white archipelago boats visit the islands yearly. Diversity and innovation are promoted in an environment that is welcoming and open. Stockholm is a city for everyone!
